6.78-inch 144Hz HyperLux AMOLED Display

The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G features a large 6.78-inch HyperLux AMOLED display with a sharp 2644 × 1208 resolution and pixel density of 429 PPI.

Its 144Hz refresh rate makes scrolling, gaming and animations exceptionally smooth. The screen supports refresh rates of 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz and 144Hz, allowing the phone to adapt to different usage scenarios.

Brightness reaches up to 1600 nits HBM and 4500 nits peak brightness, helping improve outdoor visibility and HDR-style highlights.

Corning Gorilla Glass 7i adds protection against everyday scratches and accidental impacts.

MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G Performance

Powering the POVA 8 Pro 5G is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G chipset manufactured using a power-efficient 4nm process.

The octa-core CPU reaches speeds of up to 2.6GHz, while the Arm Mali-G615 MC2 GPU handles graphics-intensive applications and mobile games.

TECNO also pairs the processor with its P1 graphics chip, which is designed to improve gaming performance through features such as frame interpolation and game super resolution.

The combination makes the POVA 8 Pro 5G suitable for demanding mobile games, multitasking, video streaming and everyday productivity.

Up to 12GB RAM and 512GB Storage

Depending on configuration, the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G is available with 8GB or 12GB physical RAM and 256GB or 512GB internal storage.

TECNO’s memory expansion technology can allocate additional storage as virtual RAM. For example, the 12GB version can provide up to 24GB displayed memory when 12GB extended RAM is enabled.

The generous storage provides plenty of room for games, applications, photos, videos and documents.

50MP OIS Camera

Photography is handled by a 50MP OIS main camera accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide camera.

Optical Image Stabilization helps reduce camera shake when taking photos or recording video, particularly in challenging lighting conditions.

TECNO identifies the primary sensor as the Sony LYTIA 700C, while hybrid OIS and EIS stabilization is designed to produce steadier images and video.

The ultra-wide camera is useful for landscapes, architecture and group photos where a wider field of view is required.

13MP Selfie Camera

On the front, the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G has a 13MP selfie camera for selfies, video calls and social-media content.

AI-assisted photography features complement the camera hardware for convenient everyday shooting.

Massive 6500mAh Battery

One of the biggest attractions of the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G is its 6500mAh battery.

The large battery capacity is particularly useful for gamers, travellers, students and users who spend long periods streaming videos or browsing social media.

It supports 45W Super Charge through USB Type-C, reducing the amount of time required to recharge the large battery.

Built for Mobile Gaming

The POVA series has traditionally focused heavily on gaming, and the POVA 8 Pro 5G continues that approach.

Its combination of a Dimensity 7400 Ultimate processor, P1 graphics chip, 144Hz AMOLED screen and 5000mm² vapor-chamber cooling system is designed to maintain smoother performance during demanding gaming sessions.

TECNO advertises support for gaming at up to 144 FPS in compatible titles and scenarios, including specific PUBG Mobile support. Actual frame rates depend on the game, software version and settings.

5G Connectivity

With support for 5G networks, the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G offers access to faster mobile data where compatible 5G coverage is available.

Connectivity features also include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and Beidou.

An infrared remote-control function is included as well.

Android 16 with HiOS 16

The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16.

The software provides TECNO’s customized Android interface together with productivity, personalization, gaming and AI-assisted features.

Under-Display Fingerprint Sensor

Unlike phones that place the fingerprint reader on the power button, the POVA 8 Pro 5G includes an under-display fingerprint sensor.

This provides convenient biometric unlocking while helping maintain the phone’s streamlined exterior design.

Dolby Atmos Stereo Audio

For movies, music and gaming, the phone features stereo audio enhanced by Dolby Atmos.

Hi-Res Audio support further complements the multimedia experience, making the POVA 8 Pro 5G particularly suitable for users who consume plenty of entertainment on their smartphones.

Futuristic Alive Matrix Design

TECNO gives the POVA 8 Pro 5G an interstellar-inspired design with an Alive Matrix Display integrated around the rear camera area.

The lighting system uses mini LEDs to produce customizable effects for supported notifications, calls, gaming and other scenarios.

Despite its large battery, the phone measures approximately 7.39mm thick and weighs 189g.

Colour options include Arc White, Graphite Black and Tundra Green.

Dust and Water Resistance

TECNO promotes the POVA 8 Pro 5G with IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K-rated protection under specified laboratory conditions.

Combined with Gorilla Glass 7i and TECNO’s Omni-Shield impact system, this gives the phone additional protection for demanding everyday environments.

Water and dust resistance can diminish with normal wear and should not be treated as a guarantee against all liquid damage.
