6.78-inch 144Hz Curved AMOLED Display

One of the biggest selling points of the Itel S26 Ultra in Kenya is its display. Itel equips the smartphone with a 6.78-inch 3D-curved AMOLED panel featuring a 1.5K-class resolution and refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The company also specifies peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits.

The high refresh rate makes scrolling, animations and supported games feel smoother, while AMOLED technology provides deep blacks, strong contrast and vibrant colours. The curved edges also give the S26 Ultra a more premium appearance than is typical for its price category.

For additional protection, the screen uses Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. Itel says the device also features EyeCare Adaptive technology for improved viewing comfort.

Unisoc T7300 Performance

Powering the Itel S26 Ultra is the Unisoc T7300 processor, manufactured using a 6nm process. Its octa-core CPU combines two Cortex-A78 cores running at up to 2.2GHz with six Cortex-A55 cores running at up to 2.0GHz.

This hardware is aimed at providing responsive everyday performance for social media, web browsing, video streaming, multitasking and mobile gaming.

Itel also incorporates its Enhanced Gaming Engine 2.0 and a multi-layer cooling system. The phone is a 4G LTE device rather than a 5G smartphone, an important distinction for buyers comparing specifications.

8GB RAM and Up to 256GB Storage

The Itel S26 Ultra is offered with:

8GB RAM + 128GB storage
8GB RAM + 256GB storage

Itel advertises up to 16GB extended RAM, which combines the phone’s 8GB physical RAM with up to 8GB of virtual/extended memory. Therefore, the advertised 16GB figure should not be interpreted as 16GB of physical RAM.

The 256GB version provides plenty of space for apps, photos, videos, documents and downloaded entertainment, making it particularly attractive for users who store a lot of content locally.

50MP AI Rear Camera

Photography is handled by a 50MP main rear camera. Itel equips the camera system with features including Action Snapshot, Super Night Mode, Pro Mode, panorama, slow motion, time-lapse and up to 15x digital zoom.

The phone can also record video at up to 2K/30fps, with Active EIS intended to improve video stability.

AI photography tools include AIGC Gallery Studio, AI Portrait, AI Vlog and AI Sky Enhancer, providing additional options for editing and enhancing photos directly on the smartphone.

32MP Selfie Camera

At the front, the Itel S26 Ultra features a 32MP selfie camera. Itel promotes it for clearer selfies, including low-light photography through its Clear Night Selfie functionality.

The combination of the 32MP front camera and AI-powered image processing makes the device suitable for selfies, social-media content and video calls.

Massive 6000mAh Battery

Despite its slim profile, the Itel S26 Ultra packs a substantial 6000mAh battery. The phone measures only around 6.8mm thick and weighs approximately 168g, according to Itel’s official specifications.

The large battery is particularly useful for users who spend significant time browsing, streaming, gaming or using social media throughout the day.

Charging is handled through USB Type-C with 18W wired fast charging.

Android 15 with itel OS 15

The Itel S26 Ultra runs itel OS 15, based on Android 15 according to Kenyan product listings.

The software includes a range of AI-powered tools such as Circle to Search, AI Writing Assistant, AI Call Assistant, image-generation/editing features and itel’s Sola assistant. Itel notes that some capabilities, including the “Hi, Sola” voice wake-up function, are delivered or enabled through OTA updates.

IP65 Dust and Water Resistance

Durability is another notable feature. The Itel S26 Ultra carries an IP65 rating, providing complete dust protection and resistance to water jets under specified laboratory conditions. This does not mean the phone is designed for prolonged underwater immersion.

Itel also promotes its TitanShield structure and drop-resistance testing, while Gorilla Glass 7i provides additional protection for the curved display.

NFC and Infrared Remote Control

The Itel S26 Ultra includes several useful connectivity features beyond the basics. Depending on market support, these include NFC, while an infrared remote-control function allows the smartphone to control compatible appliances and electronics.

The phone additionally supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C and dual-SIM connectivity.
